NPP Presidential primaries: No Mobile phones at inner polling zones
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a stern warning to all delegates participating in its flagbearer primaries on Saturday, January 31, prohibiting the use of mobile phones within the inner areas of polling centers.
The party cautioned that any delegate who violates this rule will face arrest, prosecution by the police, and forfeiture of their right to vote.
Lawyer Isaac Boamah Nyarko, a member of the NPP Presidential Election Committee, in an interview, outlined the voting arrangements and regulations.
“The electoral process is a walk-in exercise. Polling centers will be divided into three zones: outer, middle, and inner. Delegates will be identified in the outer zone using one of four approved forms of identification: a party ID, voter ID, Ghana card, or passport. Delegates without valid ID will not be allowed to vote,” he said.
Boamah emphasized that party officials will not verify or confirm anyone’s identity, urging delegates to ensure they have their ID before arriving. “No foreign materials, including mobile phones, are permitted in the inner circle,” he added.
The ballot paper will feature former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; former Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong; Abetifi MP Dr. Bryan Acheampong; Bosomtwe MP Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.
