Use technology responsibly, Yaw Oppong urges youth
A Justice of the Court of Appeal and Mawerehere of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, Barima Yaw Oppong Kodie, has admonished the youth to harness technology to advance the cause of humanity rather than use it to defraud others.
Lamenting the growing misuse of technology for fraudulent activities, Barima Yaw Oppong Kodie stressed that the youth must take a firm stand against its negative application. He made these remarks in an interview with the media on the sidelines of the J.B. Danquah Inter-Senior High School Quiz and Inter-Tertiary Institution Debate, organised by Okatakyie Boakye Dankwah Ababio, Twafohene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, in collaboration with the Danquah Institute, to commemorate the 61st anniversary of J.B. Danquah in Kyebi.
“Whenever I have the opportunity to engage the youth, I always encourage them to continue exploring the frontiers of technology while ensuring that they derive its benefits responsibly,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Dr Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko, called for a stronger appreciation of Ghanaian traditions at all levels of the country’s educational system.
